New to the Studio?….
Our classes are welcoming to people of all abilities and are especially beneficial for those looking to gently increase their movements and relax their minds and bodies.
PRIOR TO YOUR FIRST VISIT
Please review our website for basic details regarding the studio, our classes, teachers and procedures. If you have further questions, we are happy to help out. Lynne is also available for complimentary consultations to introduce you to the studio and to learn a bit more about you, your goals and needs and to make class suggestions. Feel free to contact Lynne by phone or email or by completing the contact form. If leaving a message, please suggest a day and time that would be convenient for us to reach you if you wish to speak by phone.
You can sign up online (via the above link, or by following the process in the “Signing Up for Class” step below). Signing up in advance or scheduling a phone or personal consultation allow for a smooth introduction to the studio. Alternatively, you may arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the class that you are interested in attending to complete the necessary sign-up procedures. As a first time student you should arrive 15 minutes prior your first class to ensure that the teacher has time to say hello and help you become familiar with the studio. Note that Authentic Fusion does not allow any late arrivals. All classes begin at the time listed on the schedule. If you arrive and there is a class already in session, please wait to enter until the class is completed.
SIGNING UP FOR CLASS
Booking a class on fitli prior to class secures you a space in one of our small group classes. Go to fitli website on your phone, tablet, or computer OR download and use the ios app on your iphone. Heads up: our classes are small in size to allow for personalized attention, so please book in advance.
Upon arrival, check-in with the teacher who will guide you in setting up for your first class. The studio provides complimentary mats and all props are also provided. You are welcome to bring own mat if you like. You will always check-in with the teacher, even if you have pre-registered online.
WHEN TO ARRIVE FOR CLASS
Arrive to studio no less than 5 and up to 15 minutes early to sign in and get set-up. Be settled in the room prior to the start of class. Class starts right on time, so make sure you’re on the mat before class begins. Out of respect for each others’ practice, we’ll be respectfully turning away latecomers once class begins.
New to Yoga?….
Our classes are listed on the website and in print in the general order of exertion. All Authentic Fusion teachers guide classes with adaptations, modifications and adjustments in mind to help each student create the practice that is most suitable to their level, so you don’t have to worry about having much experience! Whether its your first time on the mat or you are a more experienced yogi, our classes offer a multi-levelled approach suitable for all.
Drink plenty of water before, during and after your class. We recommend that you bring a bottle of water to class. A water cooler is provided in the studio for refills.
We suggest a light snack about an hour before class. Avoid any heavy meals at least two hours prior to class.
WHAT TO WEAR
Dress for comfort. We suggest a gently fitted tee or tank on top and form-fitting, but not tight, pants or shorts on the bottom. Please remove your shoes and place them beneath the benches at the front of the studio, being mindful to not walk in the main stuido space. You may leave your personal items on the bench. Please be aware that others will be arriving and may need space to sit and for their things as well.
WHAT YOU NEED
You, dressed comfortably! Come with an open mind and heart. Be prepared to listen to your body and respect what you hear. We suggest that you bring a water bottle.
All classes offered at Authentic Fusion are designed for all skill levels but vary in the level of exertion. Our teachers are trained to suggest and encourage mindful adapataions throughout the practice. Simply find your own pace and comfort zone, do not overextend yourself. You should never experience pain, especially in your joints. It is always acceptable to take a break on your mat during the practice as needed. Finding a comfortable seated or lying position or child’s pose or talbe are all good options for a short break if you to rest or release from a posture. We encourage you to speak to the teacher before class regarding any personal concerns or limitations that you may be aware of.
Our studio is a single open space. Please keep personal items and shoes at the front benches. ENSURE that your cell phone is off or muted.
