Having spent most of the past 25 years living internationally in Africa, Japan and the South Pacific Islands, I have been fortunate to experience unique people, cultures and natural beauty yet struggled to focus on my needs and to create balance in my own life in the midst of constant change and transition. I began practicing yoga sixteen years ago while living in Samoa to ease my transition back into the less relaxed pace of life in the northeastern US.
My personal practice helped me come to appreciate the importance of creating close connections and the ability to feel grounded no matter how far out one’s “comfort zone” one may be. Wanting to share my discoveries with others I became a Yoga Alliance registered teacher/ERYT200, TRX trainer and stand up paddle board teacher, guide and SUP yoga teacher and Thai Yoga practitioner. With a lighthearted and compassionate approach I draw upon my specialized training in awareness based and adaptive yoga, vinyasa, restorative, and senior & therapeutically oriented yoga, yoga nidra, yin yoga, TRX, SUP, prenatal, postnatal and children’s yoga, Soma Veda© Thai Yoga and coaching as well as childbirth education and infant massage instruction to support you in developing practices and creating challenges suited to your particular stage of life and needs. I look forward to helping you discover wellness, joy and beauty through self-awareness, proper movement for your body, relaxation practices and breath techniques, to embrace challenge without fear and to recognize the power of the connection of body, mind & spirit.
Rosa Jones, aka: Devi Sangat Kaur
Rosa Jones is a certified KRI Level One Kundalini Yoga Instructor. The moment she tuned-in in her firstKundalini class in 2012, she knew she had come home. Rosa’s fun-loving nature yearns to elevate herself and others through this elegant holistic yoga practice in a safe and compassionate environment.
This non-religious practice is meant for everyone! It combines postures, breath, mudra, mantra and eye-focus. This technology aims to strengthen the nervous system, balance the glandular system, and provide physical health. It teaches observation of the mind bringing it under your command to reveal a happy heart, and uncovers the Spirit so as to realize your holiness. Rosa has completed the 220 hour course, The Aquarian Teacher TM , as taught by Yogi Bhajan, is a member of the International Kundalini Yoga Teacher Association (IKYTA), and fulfilled Yoga Alliance’s 200 hour national standard for RYT. Heather is a Certified Vinyasa Yoga Teacher – 500 hour, E-RYT 200, YACEP achievements with additional certifications in Restorative, Yin, Yoga Nidra and Integrative Healing Yoga Therapy. She studied with the award winning Prancing Peacock in Bucks County, Pavones Yoga Center in Costa Rica and Ray Long, among others. Her passion is to help individuals reduce anxiety and stress and increase energetic awareness and peace! For that reason, Heather has also founded Heart Space | Happy Place (Holistic Life & Emotional Wellness Coaching and Energy Therapy)
When Heather isn’t working in her coaching and energy healing business, it’s likely she is cuddling up with her cats, out to eat, at the beach or somewhere exploring.
Anaya is a 500 hour certified yoga teacher with a passion for working with people on their journey to discovering vitality, especially those recovering from emotional trauma and PTSD. Upon reading The Body Keeps the Score, she learned trauma is stored in the cells of the body, and yoga is a useful tool for helping the body to release stored trauma. That is when Anaya completed her 200 hour certification through Ignite Yoga, a Yoga Alliance certified school. As part of her continued training, Anaya completed a year-long mentorship under a senior Ignite yoga instructor, Donna Schnoor. She received her 300 hour certification through Seven Centers Yoga Arts, also Yoga Alliance certified.
Anaya has experience in teaching Vinyasa, yin, restorative, gentle, chair, and nidra. Additionally, her 300 hour yoga teacher training had a therapeutic focus, enabling her to work one-on-one with a person using yogic management to address their particular health imbalances. She designs therapeutic programs that include asana, pranayama, and other yoga practices specific to the individual’s needs. Anaya enjoys creating an environment that is welcoming, safe, lighthearted, compassionate, and encouraging.
Kathy is a RYT 500 certified Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga Teacher since 2008, specializing in Vinyasa Flow, which focuses on synchronizing breath with movement while encouraging students to bring awareness to their bodily sensations and embrace a deeper meaning of themselves through the practice of yoga.
Kathy received her 200 Hour Yoga Certification in Long Island, NY, in 2008 with Lilly Leon, Om Shanti Yoga, and received her 300 Hour Yoga Certification, in 2018, with Jonny Kest, Center for Yoga, Michigan (LifePower Yoga). She has also taken 200+ hours of yoga training with Baron Baptiste. Kathy recently became a full-time resident in Venice, Florida.
Stacey is a 200 hour registered yoga teacher who found yoga after experiencing a tragedy that changed her life. Starting a yoga practice during overwhelming grief and stress, she knows from personal experience that movement, meditation, and breathing practices provide healing for body and mind and can help relax and restore.
Stacey’s training centered around relaxing practices including Restorative and Yoga Nidra as well as Yin, Chair Yoga, and Curvy Bodies. She teaches accessible yoga that creates modifications to help every body regardless of fitness level or ability. A recent transplant from Portland, Oregon, Stacey moved to the Sun Coast to be nearer to family. She and her Yorkipoo Lily like to visit Farmers Markets and the dog beach. She also volunteers for a horse therapy program and appreciates the mindfulness of cleaning stalls.
Lucy Sky is the host of Dance Temple, which encourages people with or without previous dance experience to tap into the awareness and wisdom of their own bodies. Movement without judgement and total freedom in expression illuminate the states of being human in a body. This deepest learning is wordless. It occurs in perceptions, in the clash of needs, in listening to your intuition, through birth of bold moments of creativity. Lucy has studied with spiritual dance teachers Leyolah Antara (Kundalini Dance)and Banafsheh Sayyad ( Dance of Oneness), among others, and is continuing her educational journey with the spiritual teacher Thomas Huebl in Mystical Principles of Healing.
Elizabeth Holland’s experience in Mind/Body Fitness began in 1986 as a young, training ballerina. She utilized Pilates and Yoga techniques as a means of cross-conditioning and injury prevention. She continued her education and experiences with Pilates throughout her professional dancing and teaching career to eventually become certified by the Physicalmind Institute in 2001. She became certified by Artforms of Italy to teach the Master Stretch Boot Series that same year. Elizabeth sought alternative methods of therapy following hip and shoulder injuries resulted from a previous pregnancy and a later auto accident. She was so impressed with the healing qualities and relief of pain she experienced through the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® that she went on to become certified in the in the method in 2001. She has since continued her studies further to complete over 2000 teacher training hours on all of the specialized equipment, Applications for Therapeutic Rehab, and to become a GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Master Trainer under the tutelage of the system’s inventor, Juliu Horvath.
Elizabeth is currently seeking her 200 hour RYT in Prana Flow Yoga under Shiva Rea. The scope of Elizabeth’s experience includes work with clients ranging from professional, training, and retired dancers, performers & athletes, to those seeking relief from chronic pain and injury & the elderly, and to the average individual seeking a means for looking and feeling better. Her commitment to her clientele is only exceeded by her dedication to continuing her education as the methodology behind Mind/Body Fitness and Wellness evolves. She seeks to create an experience based upon each individual’s specific needs, relying upon knowledge and intuition.
Kathy is an enthusiastic advocate of holistic health. She believes that we need to balance our lives more in Body, Mind & Spirit! This includes keeping your stress levels down, good nutrition, sleep, and exercise. Kathy has been a Registered Nurse for 30 years with experience in Critical Care, Home-care, School Nursing & Hospice. She has always had a special interest in good nutrition & holistic health. Kathy believes whole-heartedly in the combination of alternative and conventional Medicine. She believes all forms of Energy Medicine are here to stay & should be used in conjunction with Allopathic medicine. Kathy is an Eden Energy Medicine Clinical Practitioner and is a Reiki Master Practitioner and Teacher.
Todd is a RYT 500, E-RYT200 and YACEP instructor currently enrolled in Kripalu’s 1000-hour training program. He holds certifications in Yin, Restorative, Senior, Chair, Children’s, Aerial , Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra and Yoga for Healthy Aging as well as some specialized training in Trauma Sensitive Yoga. Although Todd took yoga classes on and off for many years, it wasn’t until a bicycling accident which left him with 3 fractured lumbar vertebrae, 4 broken ribs, broken clavicles, a collapsed lung and compression of the spine that he knew he needed to commit to a “yogic lifestyle” to stay mobile and mentally healthy.
Todd has a zest for knowledge and his classes are informed from his own experiences, injuries and limitations, the wisdom of current and past yoga masters and yogic philosophies. Todd encourages students to have the postures meet their body where it is (using modifications and props if necessary); bringing focus to the breath while maintaining a sense of self-care. Using sequences that have been creatively and intelligently constructed, students move through a practice that is both compassionate and challenging; encouraging them to understand how powerful and wonderful they truly are and to take lessons learned on the mat into their daily, “off the mat” lives. Although he enjoys instructing classes, Todd is just as eager to be a student in them. He just may be that guy on the mat next to you!
Sarah Fleener is a certified instructor for Goddess Yoga International. With a love for yoga combined with her 16 years of contemporary dance, and a life path of discernment; Sarah is deeply passionate about sharing The Goddess Yoga Experience. She is also an intuitive energy healer, and a singer/songwriter.
